
Why build a giant moon one meter in diameter?
Because it’s possible !
First of all, we need to draw this satellite.
Reliefs are increased by a factor of 10 to be clearly visible.
At this point, I decided to build the moon in 24 tiles, thus maximizing the printable dimensions of my machine (36x36x36cm).
I chose an internal structure based on aluminum tubing, with an internal core supported by an M12 threaded rod.
First assembly test :
In the end, this moon weighs around 12 kgs of PETG printed over a month.
